NDVI Change Analysis

Vegetation change from 2000 to 2025 in Northeast Park Hill, Denver.

As an urban planner and environmental analyst, tracking vegetation change over time helps identify where green infrastructure is growing, declining, or under pressure from development. Below is an interactive map I created as part of the ESIIL short course, comparing NDVI (a measure of vegetation health) between 2000 and 2025 for Northeast Park Hill, Denver, using MODIS satellite data.

NDVI change map for Northeast Park Hill (2000–2025). Green indicates areas where vegetation increased; magenta/pink indicates areas where vegetation decreased, most notably in one concentrated area likely tied to land use change.
